Course Description

Paediatric First Aid at Work including Forestry School module. This 2 day course is a comprehensive qualification designed for those working with or caring for infants and children in professional settings. Delegates will be equipped with the theoretical and practical skills needed to deal with first aid emergencies in the workplace. This qualification is valid for three years and is appropriate for most working environments. It fully meets the requirements of:

  • Ofsted (UK)

  • Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework

  • Department for Education (DfE)

Please note: Delegates must be physically able to demonstrate practical assessments

Forestry School students engaged in tree planting.

  • Roles and Responsibilities of the Paediatric First Aider

  • Legal duties and workplace responsibilities

  • Reporting and recording incidents

  • Unresponsive Infant or Child

  • Recovery position

  • Infant and child CPR

  • AED use with children

  • Choking

  • Seizures

  • Shock

  • Minor, moderate, and severe bleeding

  • Burns and Scalds

  • Bone, Joint and Muscle Injuries

  • Eye, Ear and Nose Conditions

  • Bites and Stings

  • Allergic Reactions and Anaphylaxis

  • Childhood Illnesses

  • Poisoning

  • Extreme Temperatures

Please note: Assessment is completed through a multiple-choice question papers and practical demonstrations.

 

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for individuals responsible for the welfare of infants, children, and adults within their professional setting. This includes nursery environments, childminders, and carers. The required qualification levels should adhere to Ofsted regulations and the Department for Education (DFE) Early Years Foundation Stages.
