Course Description
This Paediatric First Aid including Forestry School First Aid, two -day course qualifies delegates with an in-depth knowledge of first aid in compliance with HSE guidance. Delegates will be equipped with the theoretical and practical skills needed to deal with first aid emergencies in the workplace. This qualification is valid for three years and is appropriate for most working environments.

Course Syllabus
Understanding the role of a first aider in childcare settings
Legal responsibilities and record keeping
Incident reporting
Infection control and personal safety
Managing an Unresponsive Infant or Child
Recovery position (infant and child variations)
CPR for infants (under 1 year) and children (1 year to puberty)
Using an AED (automated external defibrillator) on a child
Choking
Recognising different types of seizures in children
Managing a seizure episode safely
Shock
Bleeding
Common Childhood Injuries
Bites, Stings, and Allergic Reactions
Please note: Assessment is completed through a multiple-choice question papers and practical demonstrations.
Who is this course for?
This course is designed for individuals responsible for the welfare of infants, children, and adults within their professional setting. This includes nursery environments, childminders, and carers. The required qualification levels should adhere to Ofsted regulations and the Department for Education (DFE) Early Years Foundation Stages.
